The candidates were busy preparing their final speeches and the tech team was making sure the equipment for voting electronically was ready … but wait, this is elementary school! Fifth and Sixth grade student leadership candidates at Jellick Elementary in Rowland Heights took part in their annual Election Day where students in grades 4th – 6th voted for their ASB President and Council. This year they casted their votes electronically thanks to the help by 6th Grade Teacher Mrs. Nancy Buck.
“This is a very inspiring group of students and they really want to give back to Jellick,” said 3rd Grade Teacher and ASB Advisor Ms. Michelle Willie. “Our ASB students are organizing volunteer groups to help in the library to provide read aloud and homework support, while others are being "Ambassadors of Character" and will be working with primary grade students.”
